Who we are
Aqera is an Australian software and advisory company. Our platform, AqeraOne, connects strategy, portfolio, value and AI transformation on one governed platform. Aqera Advisory delivers the transformation, PMO and program services that put it to work — or that stand on their own.
We were built by a practitioner who has run statutory programs where failure was not an option: a state general election and a statewide local government election for the NSW Electoral Commission. That experience shapes everything we do. Governance should be mechanical rather than procedural, every decision should leave evidence, and value should be measured after the project team has gone home.
The problems we solve
- Strategy is approved once and then drifts. Nobody can say which version is in force, what was funded against it, or whether results are moving.
- Stage gates are meetings, not decisions. Business cases are written to pass, and nothing is ever stopped.
- Benefits are forecast by the people who want the money, and never measured once delivery ends.
- AI agents arrive faster than anyone maps the work. Nobody has decided which decisions an agent may take, what would stop it, or what it costs at scale.
- Assurance and AI-framework evidence is assembled by hand, after the fact, for every review.
What we do
AqeraOne — the platform
One platform, five products. Each can be bought on its own; all share one data model, so a strategy objective, the investment that serves it, the benefit it promises and the agent that delivers it are one connected record rather than four spreadsheets.
| Product | What it does |
|---|---|
| Aqera Agentic | Run change through standing teams of people and AI agents, funded as capacity and governed on a quarterly rhythm. |
| Aqera Strategy | Board-approved, effective-dated strategy versions; governed cascade to divisional and business-unit plans; objectives, key results and investment envelopes that bind downstream. |
| Aqera Portfolio | Full-suite portfolio, program and project management from ideation to close, with stage gates, registers, scheduling, resource capacity, financials and built-in delivery assurance. |
| Aqera Value | The value management office as software: benefit standard before funding, register linked to approved cases, realisation reporting and corrective-action triggers. |
| Aqera Maturity | Facilitated AI and delivery-capability diagnostic against an open, published rubric, with gate readiness linked to the portfolio. |
Aqera Advisory — the services
| Service line | Scope |
|---|---|
| AqeraOne implementation and success | Configuration, data migration, integration, training and adoption; success plans that keep the platform delivering value after go-live. |
| Agentic AI transformation | Map value streams, evaluate each process for agent suitability, build agents under recorded autonomy and oversight, and redesign the human roles around them. Includes Fractional Chief AI Officer and NSW AI Assessment Framework services. |
| Strategic portfolio, PMO and value management | Portfolio operating models, prioritisation and investment governance, enterprise PMO design and uplift, and benefits realisation through a value management office. |
| ICT program delivery and assurance | Program mobilisation, integrated planning and critical path, readiness and transition, independent assurance reviews and program recovery. |
How we work — AIM, the Aqera Integrated Method
AIM is our five-phase governed method. It is enforced by seven controls built into AqeraOne. These include a default-reject rule for building where buying or partnering would do, and a scale-or-kill threshold set as a number and a date before any pilot starts. Feedback-loop evidence is accepted only from production. Cost is tracked per outcome. A register records the autonomy granted to every AI agent. Because the controls live in the platform, the evidence an auditor or framework reviewer needs is produced as the work happens, not assembled afterwards.
Why Aqera
- Software and services from one accountable supplier. The method we advise on is the method the platform enforces.
- Practitioner-led. Engagements are led by the principal, an ICT program delivery executive and PMP who led NSW statewide election programs.
- Governance you can inspect. Our maturity rubrics are published openly, so clients and auditors can check the measuring stick.
- Built for Australian public-sector obligations. Our engineering standard targets ASD Information Security Manual and Essential Eight controls, Australian data residency and the Privacy Act. AI design follows ASD secure-AI guidance and keeps a human in the loop for consequential decisions.
- Easy to engage. As an SME, Aqera can be engaged directly under the Commonwealth SME exemption and NSW small business directions (see "Buying from Aqera").
Who we serve
Commonwealth, NSW and local government agencies; universities and higher education; and regulated financial services. We focus on organisations that must account publicly for what they decide, what they spend and what it achieves.
Experience
The principal's delivery record includes the following:
- Program Manager, 2024 NSW Local Government Elections, NSW Electoral Commission.
- Program Manager, 2023 NSW State General Election, NSW Electoral Commission.
- Senior Manager, Enterprise PMO, NSW Electoral Commission (2019–2025), leading the organisation's project management practice.
- APAC product leadership for ONESOURCE Workflow Manager at Thomson Reuters, and earlier delivery roles at RBC Dexia, BNP Paribas and NRMA/IAG.
- Casual academic, School of Project Management, University of Sydney (2018–present), teaching capstone and project management units.
These are the principal's roles in employment, not Aqera client engagements. Aqera engagements and references are provided on request in our evidence register.
